FWS is six!
The 20th of June was FWS’s 6th birthday and happily coincided with the #WomenWhoWouldntWheesht book launch (available here and from all good booksellers) AND the passing of the Gender Representation on Public Boards (Amendment)(Scotland) bill which removed the unlawful definition of “woman” from the Act as a result of our judicial review win. Meghan Gallacher MSP and Ash Regan MSP both gave fantastic speeches in Parliament:
The Official Record of the proceedings is here and the vote where the Bill was unanimously passed.
Thank you for all the birthday wishes and an evening spent in the company of wonderful women. As the motion laid in Parliament by Tess White MSP says, while much has been achieved, the campaign to protect the rights and safety of women and girls goes on.
But in the meantime, there was much cake and laughter!
