In what The Scotsman termed a “fiery exchange” in the Scottish Parliament yesterday, John Swinney faced increasing pressure to clarify the legal position regarding provision of separate sex changing facilities for men and women working for NHS Scotland. We sent the following letter to the First Minister regarding the inadequacy of the responses he gave to Parliament.

We are pleased the EHRC has since intervened to remind the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care and NHS Fife about their legal obligations regarding single sex facilities in the workplace.
