Gender Recognition Reform Bill – Survey
We included a survey in our newsletter which ran from 27 March to 3 April 2022 to gather thoughts on some of the key points of the proposed reforms, plus suggestions for alternative reforms. 580 people responded and the results are as follows:
Question 1: Should the requirement for a diagnosis of gender dysphoria be removed?
Question 2: Should the period of living in the acquired gender be reduced from 2 years to 3 months (with an additional 3 month reflective period)?
Question 3: Should the minimum age be reduced from 18 to 16 years?
Question 4: Should people who detransition have a way of revoking a Gender Recognition Certificate (GRC)?
Question 5: Should sex offenders be barred from applying for a GRC?
Question 6: What other amendments do you think there should be to the GRA? (Please tick as many statements as you agree with.)
See here for all the suggestions.
